TMC 2.0 is born, but will it find a place in the Sun?
It's official now, the Trinamul Congress (TMC) party has split, with the majority of 59 out of 80 MLAs opting out of the party founded and led by Mamata Banerjee.
The Directorate of Enforcement on Monday arrested a TMC MLA in connection with the West Bengal school recruitment scam, sources said.
According to the sources, Jiban Krishna Saha tried to escape the ED team by jumping from the first floor, and then scaling the wall, but he was caught by the investigative team. It is also alleged that the legislator threw his mobile phone into a drain, but it was later recovered by the federal agency’s team.

The searches were also conducted at his premises in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district.

Sources said Saha would be taken to Kolkata, and produced before the appropriate court.
Notably, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also investigating the matter over alleged corruption, while the ED is probing the financial irregularities, money trail and laundering angle in this connection.
The anti-money laundering agency has also searched premises of others related to Saha.
